How are you Making Magic in the Mundane?

The stories of human spirit coming through while we’re sheltering in place gives rise to a smile when so much around us is so sad. To those on the front lines thank you. To those who have dealt with loss of loved ones my heart goes out to you. Stay well has become the new ‘travel safely’ the sign-off post 9/11 which lasted til COVID-19.

As we stay well, and do our best to do so, sprigs of ingenuity are popping up like tulips in spring. Today there was an article about the renaissance of hobbies. Last week an article about the Italians and English who go onto their balconies each evening to applaud the care workers. One friend told me about their regular evening ‘cocktail’ with colleagues who all come out on their balconies at the same time to listen to music and chat from a very safe distance. What are you doing to make magic?

In our home we are selecting a new recipe for each night of the week, shopping for the ingredients on a Monday so only one of us has to go out, and then rotating who cooks between my husband, our son, and I. To be fair they are doing most of the cooking and I’m doing most of the recipe selecting but we are feeling like we’re going to restaurants in our own home. We’ve also started watching some new series and of course every closet is now clean. Never one for clutter, this is the perfect time to spring clean! My son asked me to crochet face masks for all three of us last evening, so that might be my new charge. And I’m sketching jewelry designs, but this isn’t really the time for luxuries but it’s a creative outlet that I enjoy. Yesterday I took the dogs for a long long walk in the rain, up to our local mailbox to deposit a letter to our grandson and get a few bills paid the old-fashioned way. With postage and exercise

One of our favorite sales exec from one of our favorite stores #Wilkesbashford just sent us the game he and his family invented called “Who Matches.”  www.whomatches.com They’re finding it perfect for keeping the laughs coming and family time connected.  Puzzles or scrabble contests anyone?
